August 2026 Summary August was mostly hot and dry, with some cloud and haze. The highlight was the solar eclipse on August 12 th . Despite the lack of moonlight, the Perseid meteor shower was disappointing, at least for me. Sun The sun is still quite well-placed August from the northern hemisphere. It was much more quiet after July and there were some days with a blank disc, at least the one facing Earth.
